Coroza Return To Monk Fest

We are thrilled to announce that Coroza will be joining us for Monk Fest 2025!

After their blistering performance at last years Monk Fest, which can be watched below, we had to invite them back for another dose of powerful Post Sludge.

Playing a devastatingly heavy form of music, which encompasses heavy blues, metal, sludge, doom and stoner elements, Coroza was formed in Cork, Ireland in mid-2015 and over the course of two years honed their sound and style, leading to the release of their well-received self-titled demo in 2017.

Extensive gigging cemented them into the local scene and soon Coroza began appearing on bills around Ireland, landing support slots to international touring bands such as Conan, Bolzer and Tusker. 2019 saw the release of their debut album Chaliceburner which was met with positive reviews.

Coroza's second album titled "As Within", was recorded and mixed by renowned producer Aidan Cunningham and mastered by Magnus Lindberg (Cult of Luna)

‘As Within’ was released May 20th on LP, CD, Cassette, and Digital and was met with rave reviews!

"This new album has five tracks, and each is enormous sounding. From the first second to the last, Coroza punish in surprisingly addictive fashion. Partially because of the riffs, partially because of the pound of the percussion, and partially because of how garish the vocals are. Just listen to the first track, Myrrh, to get an idea of what this band can do. Chances are, you’ll be well and truly sold on their remorseless style." - Games, Brrraaains, and Head-Banging Life. - No Clean Singing

"Overall this is easily one of the best Irish albums I have heard and without doubt one of the best in regards to their genre. It won’t be for everyone, but if you like sludge/doom with an few more touches in there, you’ve got an absolute masterpiece here and your album of the year. It’s the perfect album, so it gets the perfect score.

10/10" - Burning Metal Ireland

"‘As Within’ is a triumphant declaration from Coroza that there is much more to expect from this band… and I can’t wait to hear it. 4/5" - Overdrive.ie

“There is something both beautiful and chaotic afoot, and one can picture a great asteroid of impending doom not far from view.” - Doomed and Stoned

"If it’s never occurred to you to say the phrase, “Hail Irish heavy” out loud, the monolithic lumber and roiling tension of “As Within” might get you there." - The Obelisk

Monk Fest 2025 will take place on July 5th in Pharmacia Bar, Limerick. Tickets are available here. Monk Fest is in aid of Temple St. Children’s Hospital.
