We are thrilled to announce that Costa Rica's SOREWOUND will release their debut EP Espanto through Cursed Monk Records on December 5th.
SOREWOUND is a Sludge Metal project with Punk influences comprised of
musicians from several different scenes within the Costa Rican underground.
With backgrounds that range from Punk and Death Metal to Hardcore and
Doom, SOREWOUND shun current trends within the Sludge sub-genre,
and are focused on style that was more akin to the bands that were coming out in
early 2000’s.

Espanto is a raw, distorted storm of 5 songs that sink listeners slowly into the
most miserable depths only to pull them back into the surface with violent
outbursts of fills and pumping bass work. The guitars focus on maxing distortion
and crushing weight. The vocals cut through as rabid animals destroying their
surroundings. Lyrics dwell into human despair, corrupt politics, stranded
relationships and emptiness in the absence of connection.
Espanto will be out on CD and Digital on December 5th and is available to preorder via our Bandcamp: https://cursedmonk.bandcamp.com/album/espanto
